We’ve changed our name!

Over the past several years, Terminal City (and roller derby in general) has been moving towards being more inclusive to people of all gender expressions. This process includes using gender neutral language.

For instance, in the past, where we might have called to a tripod of blockers “Take her to the line, ladies!” we now say something like, “Take them to the line, skaters!” This move aligns with WFTDA’s stance on gender and is one simple but meaningful step we can take in making our community more inclusive to all.

So, now, welcome to the 2019 season of….

TCRG Open Scrimmage

TCRG is hosting an evening of scrimmages on Saturday, August 11th!

We will be using a three stage model – beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each stage will consist of 40 minutes, and all players must play to the level of each stage. All skaters must have passed minimum skills with their league or through TCRG Mix Tapes.

June 23-24: Summer Slam 4: Infinity Jam

Join us for TCRG’s Summer Slam 4: Infinity Jam!

It’s time to throw down the gauntlet and gear up for two Earth days of action!

Come and marvel at our super human speed and strength as teams from across the galaxy (i.e. Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island) come together to avenge the derby doubters.

We’ll have five house teams from four leagues competing against each other in multiple games, plus a open skate roller disco on Saturday night with $10 skate rentals from Rolla Skate Club! We’ll also have merch for sale, plus raffles, 50/50, and the beer garden will be open upstairs for your viewing pleasure!

Tickets on sale at the door and online
$15 for Saturday – 5 games + roller disco – 8 am ’till late
$10 for Sunday – 4 games – 8 am ’til ~ 5 pm
$20 for Weekend Pass
Kids under 10 free!

And, yes, we will be using our made up names 😉

June 2: Home Opener VS Team Dragon

On June 2, 2018, our brand new house team, Team Terminal City, made their debut performance against Team Dragon and led TCRG to a 234-165 at-home win! Keep an eye out for Team Terminal City and many more house teams from leagues across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island at this year’s Summer Slam!

Season 12 Is Here

Season 12 is officially underway! And we have some big news!

We have combined our amazing house team forces into one awesome Team Terminal City. They’ll be playing their first game together on June 2nd against Team Dragon at Royal City Curling Club and will be representing TCRG again for our fourth annual Summer Slam on June 23rd and 24th. Don’t miss out on these two exciting events – get your tickets online today!

Our All-Stars team has been training hard after a well-deserved off-season (remember how they went to Sweden for playoffs last September?!). And now, they’ve started the season off with some serious butt-kicking at the Big O Tournament in Eugene, Oregon. With a 125-261 loss to Sacramento, a nail-bitingly close game versus Tuscon (166-177!), and a solid 239-170 victory over Calgary, they did Vancouver proud!

And finally, if you’ve ever considered skating with TCRG, then here’s your chance! The Mix Tapes program is in its second season, and the results are showing. We’ve got fresh new faces learning the basics of skating, and several Mixies have graduated into Team Terminal City.

Aug 5-6: Derby Night in Canada

What could be better than a bit more derby to cure the end-of-season blues?

How about a bunch more derby! Two action-packed days of high-level derby, featuring skaters of the All-Star Program, to be exact!

On August 5th and 6th, TCRG proudly brings you the second annual Derby Night in Canada. Over the course of two days, we will host some of the most competitive derby right here at home!

Come cheer for the TCRG All-Star Program’s B team and visiting regional travel teams as they go neck and neck in a round robin tournament. Saturday night will feature a special game of the TCRG All-Stars versus Rat City All-Stars, followed by an after-party at the upstairs bar.

Not only does it promise to be a weekend of high-level skating and gameplay, but it’s also your first peek at what the All-Star Program has been cooking up since its launch at the beginning of the season.

This much awesome derby only comes to town once a year!

Day tickets and weekend passes are available online or at the door: $15 Saturday/$10 Sunday/$20 weekend pass. Kids under 10 free.

The Eves of Destruction are rolling into town for a Victoria vs Vancouver double-header! Join us on July 15th to watch TCRG’s Public Frenemy take on Victoria’s Belles of the Brawl, followed by the Bad Reputations going up against Victoria’s Margarita Villains.

Not only is this a rare opportunity to see Terminal City bouting against our friends from the Island, but it’s also the final event in what has been an exciting Season 11. Get your tickets today, and don’t miss your last chance to cheer for your favourite TCRG house teams this year!

June 24: Harry Potter Night double-header

Calling all Harry Potter fans! On June 24th, we’re combining two of our favourite things — JK Rowling and roller derby — to bring you TCRG Harry Potter Night!

We’ll start the evening with house teams Faster Pussycats and Riot Girls facing off in the opening bout.

Then, cheer for the Battle of Hogwarts as Dumbledore’s Army takes on The Death Eaters in a Harry Potter-themed bout! Which side are you on?

Show your pride! Join us on Saturday June 3rd for a very special themed double-header: TCRG Pride Night.

The Pride celebration will start off with a grudge match between the Bad Reputations and their long-time rivals, the Faster Pussycats. Then, cheer on as TCRG’s Rainbow Rollers take on visiting Queer Squad Washington.
